By making a recommended minimum donation of $75 and paying an additional $10 membership to Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard, you are looked after not only by the volunteers here in Tauranga, but also by every Unit in the country, wherever you choose to do your boating
We just couldn’t do what we do in ‘Saving Lives at Sea’ without you.
Your donation helps our team of dedicated volunteers provide the following services to the boating public of New Zealand.
- 24 hour emergency Search and Rescue Services (SAR)
- Provision of VHF Channels 83 and 62 for contacting Coastguard or other boats. These channels are licensed to, and paid for by Tauranga Volunteer Coastguard.
- Trip report and bar crossing services
- Continuous VHF weather forecasting and condition report
Despite the fact that all our services are manned by Volunteers, without the contribution that our supporters and members make we wouldn't be able to provide the service that we do.
As well as helping to ensuring the future of the vital service that Tauranga Coastguard provides to the boating public, there are benefits to becoming a supporter.
What does my $10 membership cover?
Should the situation arise that you need assistance on the water for you and your boat, in a non-emergency situation, you can be assured that our volunteers will come to your assistance.
As a Supporter and Member you will also receive a copy of our quarterly newsletter by email, a sticker for your boat, and a copy of our annual handbook.
Your donation will be recognised with a receipt which will be mailed to you along with your membership card within a week of your donation. This donation will qualify for a personal tax credit.
